Sri Lankan national drowns in waterfall

A 29-year-old Sri Lankan national, who came to Udhagamandalam  with his wife, brothers and parents on a tour, drowned today after he fell into a waterfall near Kallatti in Tamil Nadu, police said. 

Janat Regan, a resident of Konavayal of Chinnaveli in Jaffna, was married to Janani only five days ago. 

As they reached the waterfall, Regan suddenly slipped and fell in the waters. Attempts by his father and brothers to save him remained futile and Regan drowned. 

The body was retrieved by the family with the help of public, police said. - PTI
