President Ranil to hold inaugural rally of election campaign in A’pura

The inaugural public rally in the election campaign of President Ranil Wickremesinghe for the upcoming Presidential Election will be held on August 17 at the Salgado Stadium in Anuradhapura.

 

This rally will include representatives from various parties and groups supporting the President, including those who joined from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

 

Meanwhile, former Minister Vijith Vijayamuni Soysa has announced his support for President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming Presidential Election.

 

He has officially communicated this decision during a meeting with the President last afternoon (12).

 

Meanwhile, a discussion was held between the representatives of the Tamil parties representing the Northern Province and President Ranil Wickramasinghe on Monday (12).

 

It is reported that the discussion was focused on addressing issues faced by the Tamil community in the North.

 

Additionally, the formation of the new alliance in support of President Ranil Wickramasinghe is scheduled to take place on August 16.

 

It is reported that political parties and organizations, including members of the SLPP who are backing the President, will form this new alliance.

 

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Anura Priyadarshana Yapa announced that a group of MPs supporting the President are in the process of establishing the ‘People’s United Front’.
