A total of 175,661 tourists have arrived in the country so far in the month of March, data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) shows.

 

According to data released by the SLTDA, a total of 45,650 tourists have arrived from India which accounts to 26.0%. Furthermore, 17,030 persons from the United Kingdom, 15,579 from Russia, 13,449 from China and 12,603 German nationals have also visited Sri Lanka in the month of March.

 

In February March, a total of 229,298 tourists visited Sri Lanka.

 

Meanwhile, the number of tourists who arrived in Sri Lanka in 2026 has increased to 732,316 with the release of the latest figures for March.

 

Among them, 145,390 individuals are from India, 77,358 from the UK, 65,812 Russia, the SLTDA noted.
