A 24-hour water cut will be imposed to Padukka, Homagama, and Pelanwatta due to the limited availability of water, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced.

Speaking at a media briefing today (02), the General Manager (Western Central) of the Water Board, Disna Pannila attributed the water cut to the limited water production in Labugama- Kalatuwawa reservoir.

Accordingly, a 24-hour water cut will be imposed to residents of Padukka from at 8:00 p.m. today (02) until 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (03).

Following the water cut, steps will be taken to provide uninterrupted water supply to Padukka for four consecutive days, she stated.

The supply of water will be suspended once again to Padukka on April 7.

Meanwhile, a 24-hour water cut will be imposed to residents of Homagama from 8:00 p.m. on April 3 to 8:00 p.m. on April 4.

General Manager Disna Pannila noted that steps will be taken to supply water continuously to Homagama for four days subsequently.

From 8:00 p.m. om April 4 to 8:00 p.m. on April 5, the NWSDB has decided to impose a 24-hour water cut to residents of Pelanwatta.

The supply of water will be ensured afterwards for four days, and again on April 9, water cuts will be imposed periodically.
