The National Sports Council of Bangladesh announced on Tuesday (April 7) that it has decided to install an 11-member ad hoc committee to run the Bangladesh Cricket Board, after dissolving the Aminul Islam Bulbul-led board over what it described as large-scale irregularities in the last board election.

The 11-member ad-hoc committee:

Cricbuzz had earlier reported that the current board was likely to be dissolved within the week, with the NSC set to form an ad hoc committee. An NSC official had also indicated that discussions were underway with the ICC regarding the move, following the findings of the probe committee, which recommended reforms to ensure free and fair elections.

Earlier, state minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque had said that a decision would be taken after consultations with the ICC on the probe committee’s report.

“The investigation committee found huge scale irregularities in the last election and we decided to form 11-member ad-hoc committee to run the board and they will hold elections by the next 90 days,” the NSC official said on Tuesday.

“We have informed about the findings and forming 11-member ad hoc committee to the ICC and waiting for their reply,” he said.
