Fonseka’s private secretary ordered released on bail

The Court of Appeals has ordered the release of Captain Senaka de Silva, who acted as Sarath Fonseka’s private secretary, on bail. Senaka de Silva had been remanded on a charge of employing army deserters during the last presidential election campaign.
When the bail appeal on behalf of Senaka de Silva had been brought forth at court the government attorney had stated that he does not object to the request.
Therefore he was ordered released on a cash bail of Rs.100, 000 and was barred from leaving the country.
The suspects was ordered to handover his passport to the court and also to report to the OIC of the Criminal Investigations Department on the last Sunday of every month.
