The release of the Advanced Level examination results could be further delayed although the results were reported to be released before the December school holidays, sources at the Examinations Department stated.
Examinations Commissioner General Anura Edirisinghe told Ada Derana that no date could be given for the release of the results although the final steps are being taken in order to ensure that the results are released as soon as possible.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) was unable to come to a final decision regarding the release of the A/L results despite holding a meeting yesterday (December 7).
The Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayake, the Ministry Secretary, the Examinations Commissioner General and the UGC Chairman Gamini Samaranayake were present at the meeting.
However, because the UGC committee members were not present at the meeting a final decision was not taken and the decisive meeting is now scheduled to be held tomorrow (December 9).
