Suspect nabbed with counterfeit euros

A suspect has been arrested in Narammala with a large quantity of counterfeit euro currencies. Police said the man was apprehended when he had attempted to purchase gold jewelry from a shop in Narammala town using a one hundred euro (€100) note.

Further inquires had led to the discovering of 21 more fake euro notes in the possession of the suspect, Acting Police Spokesman SP Sajeewa Medawatta said. 

The arrested suspect has been handed over to the Counterfeit Currency Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.
