The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says the company which allegedly supplied substandard diesel has been removed from its list of Registered Suppliers, until inquiries into incidents of vehicles malfunctioning from inferior diesel use are completed.
The decision was taken by the CPC Board of Directors yesterday (03) after considering complaints of substandard diesel from the public and also due to similar issues rising from fuel previously provided by the supplier, Vitol Group of Companies.
Accordingly ordering fuel for purchase from the supplier in question has been temporarily suspended, the CPC said.
Further action regarding the company will be taken following the obtaining of the report of the three-member committee appointed to look into the issue and the foreign laboratory reports, CPC Managing Director Susantha Silva said in a release today.
