Eight fishermen go missing at sea; search operations under way

Eight fishermen have gone missing after their two boats were damaged due to harsh weather conditions in the Eastern seas, the Disaster Management Centre stated.
The DMC reported that the fishermen had set off from Negombo and Dondra while navy have begun a search operation to find the missing fishermen.
The Meteorological Department reported that thunder showers can be expected in several areas off the coast of the South and East.
