Ex-Transport Director released on bail

Former Transport Director of the Presidential Secretariat Office (PSO), Keerthi Samarasinghe, who was remanded over three missing vehicles attached to the PSO, has been released on bail by the Fort Magistrate, this morning (25). 

 

Colombo Magistrate Thilina Gamage released the suspect on a cash bail of Rs, 25,000 and two personal bails of Rs. 1 million.

 

Samarasinghe was arrested last Tuesday (17) while when he was produced at court the following day, the Magistrate ordered the Department of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) to impound his passport as well.

 

The police announced that they don’t know the whereabouts of some 120 vehicles belong to the PSO. Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana also requested the public to notify the police regarding any information leading to these missing vehicles.
