Dematagoda abduction incident: suspects further remanded

The eight suspects, who were arrested over their alleged involvement in the Dematagoda youth abduction incident, have been further remanded until January 06 by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today.
The youth was abducted by a group of individuals who had arrived in a Land Rover Defender which is reportedly owned by MP Hirunika Premachandra, last month.
The victim who is a resident of Kolonnawa was abducted by the group on December 21. The incident was triggered due to an alleged clandestine love affair between the victim and the wife of one of the supporters, according to the police.
The suspects will be produced before the Magistrate again on 06 January.
