
The Colombo Chief Magistrate today ordered the former LTTE interpreter George Master to be released from the Magisterial Inquiry on him.
Daya Master and his colleague George Master surrendered to the Sri Lankan military at Puthumatalan in April 2009, just days before thecivil war ended with the defeat of the LTTE. The two men were arrested and taken to Colombo.
Daya Master and George Master were detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
Investigations carried out regarding the suspects were completed and the reports were forwarded to the Attorney General on April 20, 2011.
