Five more Covid-19 related deaths have been reported in Sri Lanka, the Director General of Health Services confirmed a short while ago.

These include three women and two men while the death toll in Sri Lanka from Covid-19 has now climbed to 29.

One of the deceased is a 46-year-old resident of Colombo 02 who had passed away at the Pimbura Base Hospital yesterday (04). He was receiving treatment at the hospital after being identified as Covid-19 positive while he had also been suffering from a kidney disease for a long period.

The second is a 68-year-old woman from Wellampitiya who had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to suffering from chest pain. She had passed away yesterday (04).

The third is a 58-year-old woman from Colombo 12 who had passed away at her home. She had been identified as Covid-19 positive during the postmortem examination. The cause of death is reported as Covid-19 related heart attack.

The fourth is a 73-year-old woman from Colombo 14 who also had passed away at home. She was identified as COvid-19 positive during the postmortem. The cause of death has been identified as lung disease cause by Covid-19 infection. 

The fifth is a 74-year-ol man from Colombo 15 who also passed away at home and was identified as Covid-19 positive during the postmortem. The cause of death is reported as a heart attack caused by the coronavirus infection. 

This brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Sri Lanka to 29, the Director General of Health Services confirmed.
