Saliya Wickramasuriya appointed new chairman of CPC and CPSTL

A new chairperson has been appointed to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd. (CPSTL).

 

Accordingly, Mr. Saliya Wickramasuriya will be the chairperson of both CPC and CPSTL with effect from today (Oct. 05), Minister of Power & Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

 

The appointment was made after Mr. Mohamed Uvais Mohamed stepped down from his posts on October 04.

 

At present, Mr. Wickramasuriya, who is an energy industry specialist, serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Petroleum Development Authority. He is also a member of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission.

 

Meanwhile, Managing Director of CPC Darshana Rathnayake has been appointed as the Managing Director of CPSTL.
