High Posts Committee approves 5 top appointments including PUCSL chief

The Committee on High Posts has green-lighted 5 new appointments including an appointment of a High Commissioner, the Communication Department of Parliament said on Wednesday (Jan.17).

 

The new appointments approved by the committee are as follows:

 

• Mr. P.R.S. Goonawardena – High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Maldives
• Dr. M.M. S.S.B. Yalegama – Non-Cabinet Ministry of State Plantation Enterprise Reforms
• Mr. S.C.J Devendra – Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation
• Prof. M.A.R.M. Fernando – Chairman of Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL)
• Mr. J. M. Soosaithasan – Chairman of State Mortgage and Investment Bank

 

Committee on High Posts met in Parliament last week under the chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena. The meeting was attended by Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva and Keheliya Rambukwella, as well as MPs Johnston Fernando, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Thalatha Athukorala, Udaya Gammanpila, Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle and Dharmalingam Siddharthan.
