
The Parliament of Sri Lanka has passed the ‘Public Debt Management Bill’ today (June 07), State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said.
Posting on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the Finance State Minister highlighted that the bill will provide for Public Debt Management including the authorization to borrow, issue and to service public debt for the government.
Furthermore, it will enable issuing guarantees, on-lending, enter into suppliers’ credit and financial lease agreements for the establishment of the Public Debt Management Office and for matters connected therewith, Semasinghe added.
