
The family of former Head of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay, says his health condition is deteriorating day by day.
After visiting him earlier today (12), family members stated that his worsening health has become a matter of serious concern and claimed that his life could be at significant risk.
Meanwhile, the Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero, has also sent a letter to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake regarding Sallay’s situation.
In the letter, the Chief Prelate noted that Sallay’s wife had visited the Asgiri Viharaya and made an appeal on behalf of her husband.
According to the letter, she requested assistance in securing relief for her husband and urged that her appeal be conveyed to the President so that appropriate action could be taken.
The Chief Prelate has informed the President of her request and called for suitable consideration of the matter.
