Ambalangoda PS member remanded over alleged illegal firearm possession

An Ambalangoda Pradeshiya Sabha member representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), who was arrested for the alleged illegal possession of a firearm, has been remanded until July 24.

 

The suspect was arrested by the Galle District Crimes Division on July 11 for allegedly being in possession of a repeater-type firearm without a valid licence.

 

After being produced before the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court today (13), Magistrate Pavithra Sanjeevani ordered that the suspect be remanded until July 24.
