Appeals Court defers hearing on Suresh Sallay’s petition to July 27

The Court of Appeal has scheduled further hearings for July 27 in the writ petition filed by former Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay, challenging his arrest and detention in connection with investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
When the matter was taken up today (July 21), President's Counsel Sanjeewa Jayawardena, appearing for Sallay, concluded his submissions before the court.
Court then adjourned the case until July 27, when Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath, representing the Attorney General, is expected to present the state's submissions.
