Boat carrying eight people missing on Kurikadduwan-Delft route
A boat carrying eight people has gone missing after reportedly encountering an accident while travelling from Kurikadduwan to Delft this evening (16).
The boat had departed from the Kurikadduwan jetty and was en-route to Delft when the incident was reported.
Two of the eight people on board are said to be boat operators.
The incident occurred amid rough sea conditions prevailing in the area due to the adverse weather, according to reports.
The Sri Lanka Navy has launched search operations to locate the missing boat and the eight people on board.
