Sri Lanka is set to take a significant step towards strengthening its position in the regional digital finance landscape with the inaugural Sri Lanka FinTech Festival 2026, organized by the Fintech Forum Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy.

The two-day flagship event will be held from November 02 to November 03, 2026 at Shangri-La Colombo, the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratna said.

The Festival was officially announced at a press conference held yesterday (25) at Amari Colombo, where the organizers also unveiled the official Festival website, the statement said.

Further information is available at www.fintechfestival.lk. The Sri Lanka FinTech Festival 2026 is envisioned as a dedicated platform to bring together Sri Lanka’s growing fintech and digital finance ecosystem, showcase the country’s digital finance capabilities and connect local stakeholders with regional and global developments in financial technology.

The Festival will serve as a catalyst for stronger public-private collaboration, increased visibility for Sri Lankan fintech innovation and deeper engagement with regional and international digital finance markets.

Sri Lanka has already established important digital finance infrastructure and capabilities, it said.

The Festival will provide a platform to bring these developments into greater focus and demonstrate the country’s readiness to participate in and contribute to the next chapter of financial innovation.

The Sri Lanka FinTech Festival will build on Sri Lanka’s existing digital finance capabilities by creating a platform to showcase innovation, connect stakeholders and advance the country’s digital finance ecosystem, the statement stated.

The Festival will also center around four key themes shaping the future of financial technology:

  • The Future of FinTech

  • Building Unicorns and Modernisation

  • Sustainable and Inclusive FinTech

  • Security and Fraud

These conversations will explore how technology, policy, regulation and innovation can contribute to building a more competitive, inclusive, resilient and secure digital finance ecosystem.

The festival will also address critical developments shaping the global and regional fintech landscape, including national digital finance policy and regulation, regulatory sandboxes, digital assets, cross-border payments and remittances, AI in finance, tokenisation, digital public infrastructure and digital identity, financial inclusion, SME finance and tourism payments.

The Sri Lanka FinTech Festival 2026 will commence on November 02 with CEOs Night, an invitation-only gathering bringing together banking and fintech CEOs, members of the Fintech Forum Board and Advisory Committee, speakers, government representatives and officials of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

On  November 03, the Sri Lanka FinTech Expo will bring together more than 500 participants for a full-day programme featuring keynote addresses, expert panel discussions and a FinTech & Solution Provider Exhibition, the statement added.

The exhibition will provide businesses with a platform to showcase their technologies, solutions and innovations to industry leaders and potential partners.

The Festival will conclude with FinTech Night, a networking reception bringing together Festival participants and invited guests.

For industry and business stakeholders, the Festival will offer opportunities to gain insights into emerging technologies and market trends, engage directly with policymakers and industry leaders, discover innovative solutions and establish new business connections.

For policymakers and regulators, it will provide a platform to engage with industry perspectives and explore the future direction of digital finance, the statement added.

More broadly, the Festival will contribute to positioning Sri Lanka within the rapidly evolving regional and global fintech landscape.
