
Two more Chinese nationals wanted in connection with the assault of three Chinese nationals within the Colombo Port City premises and the subsequent abduction and murder of one of them have been arrested by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) in Sigiriya.
The incident occurred on July 23 following a clash between two groups of Chinese nationals at the Colombo Port City premises, during which one Chinese national was abducted and later killed. His body was subsequently found in Eheliyagoda.
Several suspects had previously been arrested and remanded in connection with the incident, while the CCD had conducted an extensive investigation to identify and apprehend other suspects involved in the murder who had fled the area.
Police had earlier sought public assistance to locate and arrest three Chinese nationals wanted in connection with the crime.
Accordingly, two suspects were arrested yesterday (28) while hiding at a restaurant in Sigiriya, police said.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced before court today (29).
