Unidentified body found in Kelani River

The body of an unidentified man has been recovered from the Kelani River in the Jalthara area within the Hanwella Police Division.

The body was recovered last evening (11) following information received by the Hanwella Police Station.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been established, police said.

A magistrate’s inquiry is scheduled to be conducted regarding the body, and Hanwella Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
