Three suspects arrested over Kotahena murder, ‘Ice’ seized
Two main suspects in a murder committed in Kotahena and another person who allegedly aided and abetted the crime have been arrested with 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine) drugs.
Police launched an investigation into the incident in which a man was hacked to death in the Kotahena area on September 14, 2026.
Based on information received during the investigation, the three suspects were arrested in raids conducted in Grandpass, Kolonnawa and Mattakkuliya.
Police also recovered 28 grams and 600 milligrams of ‘Ice’ drugs in the possession of the suspects.
The arrested individuals, aged 19, 25 and 39, are residents of Mattakkuliya, Colombo 14, and Kolonnawa, police said.
Kotahena Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
