A suspect has been arrested with ‘Ice’ (crystal methamphetamine) and heroin worth more than Rs. 4 million, Alubomulla Police said.
The suspect has been identified as a resident of Sesatha Mawatha in Wanduramulla, police said.
Police said the suspect was subjected to inspection while travelling along Sesatha Mawatha, during which 15 grams of ‘Ice’ were found in his possession.
Meanwhile, a search of the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of 190 grams of heroin concealed inside a wardrobe, police said.
Police said the suspect had previously been shot while sleeping at his residence about a year ago in an attack allegedly carried out by a faction linked to ‘Panadura Kudu Nilanga’.
The suspect had previously been arrested on seven occasions for possessing narcotics and produced before the court in connection with drug-related offences, while several cases against him are reportedly being heard before the High Court.
Accordingly, the suspect was due to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate’s Court.
