Tree falls on moving three-wheeler in Ginigathhena amid bad weather
A large tree fell onto a moving three-wheeler near the main road in Ginigathhena yesterday (21), amid adverse weather conditions in the area.
The incident occurred at around 5.00 p.m. as three relatives from the same family were travelling from Ginigathhena town to their home on Hospital Road.
Three individuals were inside the three-wheeler at the time of the incident. None of them sustained injuries in the accident.
However, the driver was admitted to the Ginigathhena District Hospital after reportedly experiencing a sudden medical condition following the incident, police said.
The falling tree also caused damage to the three-wheeler, as well as a nearby telephone pole and its network of cables.
Police are investigating the incident.
