“I seek to earn public trust by presenting myself as I truly am”: President
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has stressed that he seeks to earn the public’s trust by presenting himself as he truly is, rather than creating a false image.
In a Facebook post, President Dissanayake said genuine sincerity was essential to building lasting public trust.
“Therefore, I seek to earn that trust by presenting myself as I truly am,” he said.
The President noted that if he were to create a false image of himself, the trust placed in him would begin to erode once his true self emerged.
The President also reiterated his belief that, during the government’s tenure, more people would come to trust it than those who had voted for it when it first came to power.
