New Chinese Ambassador meets former President Maithripala Sirisena

A meeting was held between the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Wei Huaxiang, and former President Maithripala Sirisena.

 

The meeting, held at the former President’s residence, focused on further strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Sri Lanka and China.

 

The discussions also covered the current situation in Sri Lanka and global developments. It was reported that former President Sirisena recalled the diplomatic relations and experiences shared with China during his tenure as President.

 

The former President also expressed his hope that the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two countries would continue to strengthen in the future.
