At least seven individuals have sustained injuries in an explosion at the Polonnaruwa Nephrology Hospital, police stated.

 

The explosion occurred when a gas cylinder exploded inside the hospital’s kitchen, according to police.

 

The injured, who are employees of the Nephrology Hospital, were admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital for treatment.

 

The explosion also caused extensive damage to the hospital building, police noted.
