Sri Lanka calls for complete elimination of nuclear weapons at UNGA
Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, addressing the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, has called for the total and complete elimination of nuclear weapons amid growing concerns over nuclear proliferation and rising global tensions.
Minister Herath said Sri Lanka continues to support international efforts towards nuclear disarmament and stressed the need for collective action to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.
