Woman dies after air rifle discharged in Galle
A 57-year-old woman has died after being injured when an air rifle was discharged in Ambalanwatta, Galle, police stated.
Police said the woman was injured and was admitted to the Galle National Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The deceased was identified as a resident of Deniyaya.
According to police investigations, the woman had been working at a residence in Mount Hall Estate, Ambalangoda, together with another woman and two men. The incident reportedly occurred when an air rifle was discharged at the residence during the afternoon.
Galle Police have arrested the other woman who was working at the residence in connection with the incident.
Further investigations are underway.
