
Two individuals who allegedly posed as doctors using forged documents have been arrested by officers of the Walana Central Anti Vice Striking Force along with a stock of medicines.
The arrests were made yesterday (06) in Meegalewa based on information received by the officers of the unit. The raid was conducted with the assistance of the Kurunegala Regional Director of Health Services.
The two suspects were taken into custody along with medicines estimated to be worth approximately Rs. 1.5 million and were subsequently handed over to the Meegalewa Police Station.
The suspects, aged 33 and 62, are residents of Meegalewa.
Further investigations are being conducted by the Kurunegala District Drug Inspector officers, Medical Officers of Health and the Meegalewa Police.
