SLC presents Rs.5 million to legendary cheerleader Percy Abeysekera

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has presented Rs. 5 million to Sri Lanka’s legendary cheerleader on the cricket field Percy Abeysekera.
This donation was made to Mr. Abeysekera in to support his wellbeing and maintenance of good health, the SLC said.
The decision has been arrived at by the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, headed by President of the SLC Shammi Silva.
“Percy’s contribution to the game of cricket in Sri Lanka as a cheerleader is immeasurable, and he has been a tower of strength for the players and to the game as a whole, and it was our turn to give back and look into his wellbeing,” said Sri Lanka Cricket’s secretary Mohan de Silva.
The donation was handed over to Mr. Abeysekera by the cricket board’s secretary, when he visited Percy’s house on behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket to inquire about his health and wellbeing, according to the SLC.
