The government has decided to shut down ‘Maga Neguma’ and four of its affiliated institutions, Minister Bandula Gunawardena says.

Addressing the Cabinet media briefing this morning, the lawmaker said the decision was taken due to the lack of funds to maintain these institutions.

‘Maga Neguma’ Road Construction Equipment company was created in 2004, as a re-establishment of the former Road Construction Development Compnay (RCDC).

However, this state-owned entity and its affiliated institutions are now being discontinued due to the lack of funds to maintain them, Gunawardena said adding that these establishments would be dissolved under the state enterprise reforms.
