Dates announced for 2025 new school term

The new school term for the academic year 2025 is scheduled to commence on January 02, 2025.

 

Addressing a media briefing this morning (14), Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha stated that significant improvements have been made to the academic calendar and examination schedule for the upcoming years.

 

Furthermore, he mentioned that in order to address past delays, the ongoing third school term will include an additional two weeks in January 2025, for ensuring a complete and uninterrupted academic year. 

 

Meanwhile, the Minister guaranteed that school uniforms, textbooks, and all necessary materials will be fully prepared to be distributed among the students by January 20, when the 2025 first term will officially begin.
