Landslide warnings issued to residents of four districts

Early landslide warnings have been issued to residents of several Divisional Secretariat divisions in four districts owing to incessant rains experienced in parts of the island.

 

Accordingly, landslide warnings issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. today (13) to 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (14).

 

Level-1 (Yellow) warnings have been issued to residents of following areas:

 

Kandy district: Yatinuwara Divisional Secretariat Division and surrounding areas

 

Kegalle district: Warakapola, Kegalle and Rambukkana Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

 

Nuwara Eliya district: Nuwara Eliya and Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas

 

Ratnapura district: Imbulpe, Kuruwita, Opanayake, Pelmadulla and Ratnapura Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas
