Lassana Flora, South Asia’s first florist company to obtain ISO 9001:2008 certification

Colombo, March 2011 - Lassana Flora recently obtained the prestigious ISO 9001:2008 certification, thus not only becoming Sri Lanka’s first, but also South Asia’s first florist company to be thus recognised.

Since its launch in 1998, Lassana Flora has revolutionised Sri Lanka’s floral industry with its professional management and carefully developed systems. These have not only helped Lassana Flora to provide creative floral solutions at very competitive prices, but have also built its reputation as the most reliable florist in the country.

Founded by Dr. Lasantha Malavige (MBBS, DIPM, PhD) when he was still a third year medical student in Colombo medical faculty, Lassana Flora is known for its cost effective, innovative and elegant floral designs among the Sri Lankans.

Lassana Flora operates through four main branches at the Galle Face Hotel, Nawala, Negombo and Kandy, with a state-of-the-art work shop and cool room facilities at its Homagama stores complex.

“One of our biggest strengths is our well experienced and professional staff. Our 12 years of experience in this industry has made us market leader in wedding flowers and floral solutions for corporate events. Constantly introducing innovative designs and different floral solutions, we are proud to be the floral solutions provider for most of the leading international events happening in Sri Lanka”, Managing Director/Chairman Dr. Malavige said.

Lassana Flora specialises in Poruwa, Church, Hindu and Muslim weddings and enjoys the reputation as being the only wedding florist company in Sri Lanka to use a fleet of freezer trucks to deliver flowers.

Lassana Flora also offers it clientele the option of ordering flower arrangements via a telephone hotline and online. Its website - www.lassanaflora.com - provides an extensive range of online flower selections, which millions of people across the world can order online to send flowers to their loved ones. Its online wedding planning service has parallely helped many foreign nationals and Sri Lankan expatriates to have their weddings in Sri Lanka.

“Our commitment to excellence and well developed systems, have helped us to earn the reputation among the public, as the most reliable flower company in Sri Lanka. We also strongly support fair trade and consider all our suppliers as partners. In fact, we have assisted many of our growers to develop successful agri-businesses by buying flowers at reasonable prices, providing technical support, planting material and financial assistance. All this and more have contributed to our vision of being the foremost and most sophisticated  bridal and floral solution provider in South Asia”, Dr. Malavige added.
