PAFFREL makes special request of Elections Commissioner

The People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) organization has made a special request of the Elections Commissioner to protect the votes of the people with regards to the Pudukuduirippu and Muhudubadapattu local government elections.

 

Executive Director of PAFFREL, Rohana Hettiarachchi stated that voters belonging to the Mulaitivu area are currently living in IDP camps in and around Menik Farm while PAFFREL has requested the Elections Commissioner to take all measures to protect their votes.

 

Furthermore, the Commissioner was requested to set up two separate special offices in both areas. By establishing two centers comprising of police and representatives of political parties, authorities can find quick solutions to any problems that will arise.
