Ada Derana won the award for Best Television News Report of the Year at the 8th Raigam Tele’es held at the Water’s Edge last evening, for the ‘Attack on Dompe Police’ news report.
Several programmes aired on TV Derana were nominated for awards at Raigam Tele’es this year. Ada Derana news reports on ‘Attack on Dompe Police’ and ‘EPF issue – Free Trade Zone’ were both nominated for Best Television News Reporting of the Year.
Derana’s Uthpala Rathnayake was nominated for Best Sinhala Television News Presenter of the year while TV Derana’s Wishwa Lanka was nominated for Best Programmes Presenter of the Year – Sinhala.
Eight years ago, Raigam Tele-awards ceremony started as an awards ceremony for the tele-drama industry and became their crowning event.
