Police today said that four suspects have been arrested in connection to the quadruple murders which took place in Poddala, Galle.
The suspects were arrested in the Akmeemana area this afternoon, police spokesman SSP Prishantha Jayakody said.
The bodies of four youth -shot and killed - were found this morning near the Mahasen culvert in Walpitawatta, Poddala.
All bodies were reportedly found with their faces covered and the hands and feet bound.
Police said that initial inquiries have revealed that the four killings had occurred as a result of a dispute between two groups and were connected to a murder which had taken place on October 25.
Investigations have revealed that the four victims found dead were the same individuals suspected of murdering a person at Dickson Junction in Galle.
Therefore two special police teams had commenced investigations into the murders which resulted in the arrest of the four individuals, under suspicion.
The suspects have been handed over to Poddala Police for further investigations, the police spokesman said.
