12 more samples of imported milk powder found to be DCD-free

The Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) and the Medical Research Institute (MRI) have found no traces of the chemical dicyandiamide (DCD) or Clostridium Botulinum in 12 samples of imported milk powder, the Health Ministry stated.

 

The Health Service Director General had sent the samples to ITI and MRI for testing following the direction of the ministerial committee set up to look into the matter.

 

Furthermore, 8 samples of infant milk powder containing whey protein were tested for Botulinum while tests found no traces of it.

 

After Nestle had certified that its whey powder is brought from France, the Ministry granted it permission to add the powder to domestic milk in producing Milo.
