Peradeniya undergraduates launch satyagraha campaign

The students of the University of Peradeniya have launched a ‘Satyagraha’ campaign in protest against suppression of student activism and several other demands, this afternoon.
The campaign was launched in front of the Jorge de Silva garden in Peradeniya.
Dumindu Nukulasooriya, the president of the Management Faculty Student’s Working Committee said that the university administration has not provided solutions for their issues yet, though over 50 days elapsed for their Satyagraha campaign which was launched in Galaha Junction. “We urge the authorities to take immediate measures to reopen the management faculty,” he added.
We will continue to boycott classes, and continue Satyagraha campaigns, if our demands are not met, said Nukulasooriya.
Some three students were arrested at the Peradeniya police, last month, when they arrived at the police station to give a statement with respect to the Sathyagraha campaign staged in Galaha Junction, and later released.
