The Attorney General today again undertook not to arrest of Parliamentarian Tiran Alles until the Fundamental Rights petition filed by the Parliamentarian at the Supreme Court is heard again on June 29.
The AG took this undertaking on May 27 and the court today instructed to maintain status quo until the next hearing.
Alles filed the FR petition seeking an order to prevent his arrest in connection with an alleged financial misappropriation amounting to approximate Rs. 640 million at the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA), Ada Derana court reporter said.
The police on April 9 recorded a statement from the MP in this regard as well. Earlier, the Fort Magistrate’s Court banned the foreign travel for the Parliamentarian owing to this allegation.
