The initiative launched by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Maharagama to seek public assistance for the purchase of a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner, which received the support of Manusath Derana, has achieved its target of getting Rs.200 million as of today (13).
The PET scanner is an essential requirement for the National Cancer Institute in Maharagama as it allows doctors to detect the early onset of disease before it is evident on other imaging tests.
Manusath Derana, the CSR initiative of TV Derana, was committed to fully support this campaign to raise Rs 200 million for a PET Scanner while everyone and all were invited to join the cause.
Adding a boost to the campaign, a generous donor, who wishes to remain unanimous, has also deposited a donation of Rs 35 million to the NCI’s bank account last month.
