Seat belts mandatory for all expressway passengers from today
Wearing seat belts has become mandatory for all passengers travelling in vehicles on expressways from today (19).
The requirement has been introduced in accordance with regulations published about a year ago.
Although regulations requiring all expressway passengers to wear seat belts were introduced last year, their implementation was delayed as some vehicles did not have seat belts for rear-seat passengers.
Accordingly, following the completion of the one-year period granted to install seat belts on rear seats, the requirement for all passengers travelling in vehicles on expressways to wear seat belts came into effect at midnight yesterday (18).
