President and Prime minster refuse to reveal assets and liabilites

Representatives of Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) stated that information regarding the liabilities and assets of the prime minister and president have not been released for investigation. 

 

The manager at the TISL, Sangeetha Gunaratne  stated that although they are allowed to gain access to the documents under the right to information act, the r4equiest has been rejected internally. 

 

She further added that the committee will re-appeal in the hope of gaining access to the documents.
