Ray Abeywardena appointed CSE Chairman

Ray Abeywardena has been appointed as the Chairman of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) with effect from Friday (May 05).

 

He will be succeeding Mr Vajira Kulatilaka, who steps down as the chairman on completion of the customary 3-year term of office. 

 

Mr Abeywardena is the Managing Director/ Group CEO of ACUITY Stockbrokers and has experience in the financial services industry spanning over 2 decades. 

 

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Acuity Partners, Acuity Securities, and is the Chairman of Acuity Stockbrokers. 

 

He is a past Chairman of the Colombo Stock Brokers Association. 

 

Mr Abeywardena is a passed finalist in CIM (UK) & has an MBA from the University of Wales, UK.

 

In June 2013, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE). 

 

The CSE operates the only share market in Sri Lanka and is responsible for providing a transparent and regulated environment where companies and investors can come together.
