Police should be assigned under President – Dilan
Mobitel Inner

It is vital that the President assigns the Police under the Ministry of Defense, stated Dilan Perera of  Group of 16 in SLFP, at a press conference held today (20).

He says that the 23 SLFP MPs are suspiciously quiet on the conspiracy to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Only MP Sriyani Wijewickrama requested for an investigation regarding the matter, he pointed out.

There is only a simple investigation to be done regarding this and accordingly, it is essential to check this audio record to figure out the basis of this incident, says Perera.

Motive behind this conspiracy is not just eliminating the President but also gaining the Head of State post without an election, under the 19th constitutional amendment, said the MP.

President has been personally informed on this and President Sirisena should pay more attention to his safety, stated MP Dilan Perera.

President and former Defense Minister assassination plot is an abnormal occurrence and it is important that the President assigns the Police under the Defense Ministry, he further said.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was invited to India because Indian intelligence services have revealed that he would be the next Head of State in Sri Lanka, says Perera.
