The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has decided to introduce payment plans for new connections, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera revealed.

Taking to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Minister Wijesekera stated that the decision was taken at a meeting held with officials of the CEB and the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) at the Ministry’s premises on Tuesday (30 Jan.).

Accordingly, it was decided to introduce payment plans not only for new connections, but also for other services obtained by consumers from the CEB.

The Minister further noted that the CEB management will thus notify its consumers of the new services and installment payment plans that will be made available for its consumers.

The meeting also focused on the power generation plans for this year, tariffs, costing of other services, oil pricing for power generation, weather forecasting and upgrading the facilities of the CEB’s system control unit.
